Serving in the Army

Serving in the Army from 1943-46 opened up many new opportunities for Kath: moving out of home; learning new technical skills; meeting new people; making a contribution.

Serving in the Australian Women’s Army Service (AWAS),  School of Artillery – Aircraft Recognition department, 1944
15 January 1945 – Sergeant  Kathleen Sheridan, Australian Women’s Army Service, making model aircraft at the Land Headquarters, School of Artillery (Anti –Aircraft) in Bundock St, Randwick. The models were used in aircraft identification lectures.
